IT is the spine for research, teaching and administration at every University. Therefore working and secure IT proccesses are a central foundation for the performance of a University. Also, University operations require guarantees in integrity, confidentiality and availability of data, applications and services. This complex IT environment is regulated through guidelines and concepts of the JMU. As a result, decentralized IT responsibilities are deduced for the faculty, which also form interfaces to the central IT facilities of the University.

For this reason the faculty has a full time IT-Manager, so that all IT responsibilities are permanently filled.
