Dissertation title: Electrocortical responses to context and cues during context conditioning.

Abstract: In classical conditioning an aversive event is paired with a predicting cue, which elicits fear related responses after repeated pairings. The absence of a predicting cue however leads to a chronic anticipation of the aversive event and the context elicits sustained anxiety. This projects aims to assess cortical responses to context and novel social cues during context conditioning and to observe the effect of predictability on context and cue processing. Electrocortical activations in response to contexts and cues are assessed separately by steady-state visually evoked potentials (ssVEPs) using frequency tagging.
