    Dissertation title:
Psychophysiological reactions following caffeine administration in persons carrying an adenosine A2A receptor gene risk allele vs. no-risk allele.

Abstract: Based on the psychophysiological vicious circle of panic attacks (Clark, 1986) we examine the interaction between genetics, sensorimotor gating and emotional perception in healthy controls with either an adenosine receptor gene risk allele vs. a no-risk allele. To test for differences in emotional perception the emotional startle paradigm will be used. We also expect differences in sensorimotor gating using the prepulse inhibition paradigm.
