Application Requirements

The entry requirements for the Diversity, Ethics and Religions degree program are as follows:

(1) University entrance qualification: High school diplomas or university certificates which qualify the holder to study at a university in Germany. Please note whether the qualification was obtained in Germany or abroad.

Applicants with a German university entrance qualification (e.g. Abitur) can apply directly via Wuestudy .
Applicants with a foreign or international university entrance qualification admission must first have their qualification assessed by uni-assist to determine whether it is equivalent to a German qualification (e.g. Abitur) for university admission. We advise foreign students to start this process early since assessment by uni-assist can take up to 8 weeks and should be completed before the application deadline. After successful assessment, foreign students can apply directly via Wuestudy.

(2) English language proficiency: As the language of instruction is English, applicants are expected to have and demonstrate sufficient English language skills. This can be shown, for example, by a certificate from a recognised language school. Level B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is required. For applicants with a German university entrance qualification, their high school diploma is sufficient proof. If you are unsure whether your documents are suitable for the application, please contact Jun. Prof. Feriel Bouhafa.

(3) Knowledge of German is not required at the start of the program! However, students are expected to demonstrate German language proficiency at level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages by the time they complete their studies. Appropriate language courses are offered at the University of Würzburg and can be attended by students.
