Funding for monodisciplinary research projects, conference participation, workshops, and continuing education

The Equal Opportunities Commission of the Faculty of Human Sciences promotes research projects at the faculty. As a young scientist (e.g., doctoral candidate, postdoctoral researcher, junior professor) who is pursuing academic qualifications at the Faculty of Human Sciences (e.g., primary supervision of your dissertation by a member of the Faculty of Human Sciences), we can support you in your academic career.

Call for proposals for funding in 2026 in a PDF.

Please note that only one application (A or B) per person can be submitted.

To be eligible to apply, your project or smaller independent study must be in the planning phase or currently based at the Faculty of Human Sciences. Your affiliation with the University of Würzburg (employment contract, qualification project) should last until the end of the proposed project. Only costs incurred in 2026 can be reimbursed. The Equal Opportunities Commission will evaluate your application in terms of its contribution to your academic qualification, the expenditure of the requested funds in the respective fiscal year, its originality, and its added value for the respective discipline.

To apply, you must be affiliated with the Faculty of Human Sciences at the University of Würzburg (employment contract, qualification project). This affiliation should continue until the end of the event. A further prerequisite for your application is that you present your own scientific contribution (e.g., lecture, poster presentation, project presentation, moderation, discussion of research data, presentation of a good practice seminar concept at a continuing education event) at the event in 2026.

The faculty's Equal Opportunities Commission will decide on the allocation of funds. You should receive a response to your application by mid-February 2026. The funds are earmarked and must be spent by the end of October 2026, otherwise they will be forfeited. As it is unlikely that all interested parties will be able to receive funding, preference will be given to applicants who are in temporary employment and did not receive funding in the previous year.
